Sharon is an upcoming final year student at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), majoring in International History and French. Her primary research interest lies in the medicine, religion, and frontier regions of late-Qing China. Aspiring to enhance her understanding of East Asia, she is keen on learning from her peers at the IUCJ. Previously, Sharon has been actively engaged in research and organizing events relevant to China. At her home university, she is a research assistant for Dr. Ronald Po on his project about Chinese maritime connection with the West. Further, she initiated a panel discussion on current disease-related racism and invited speakers from Harvard, HKU, Oxford to address the topic. At UCBRC, she hopes to contribute to the bettering of the Sino-US relationship and promote mutual understanding between people from both countries.
