What is the IUCJ?
The Intercollegiate U.S.-China Journal is a bilingual, semi-annual academic journal that provides a platform for undergraduate students across the globe to publish interdisciplinary, academically rigorous research. The Journal aims to improve understanding of the United States and China’s domestic and international affairs—including in the fields of security, politics, culture, technology, economics, and the environment. Works published will encompass discussions of the U.S. and China, their relations, and more broadly their respective roles in international affairs. IUCJ partners with research institutions and prominent U.S.-China scholars to uphold its standards of scholarly excellence.
The Intercollegiate U.S.-China Journal believes in upholding rigorous standards of scholarship and academic integrity. We will be selecting articles that adhere to the following conditions:
Original thinking. Articles that violate plagiarism ethics will be rejected upon initial submission.
Academic rigor. Articles must be well-written, demonstrate thoughtfulness, and engage with existing literature.
IUCJ’s leadership team, associate editors, communications officers, and designers pride themselves in fostering a culture of integrity and accountability. To maintain our standards of objectivity and transparency with both our authors and audience, we provide an open space for growth and constructive criticism. The selection and revision of featured articles are solely based on scholarly merit, without discrimination on the bases of our authors’ identities, affiliations, or previous publication history. Our goal as an academic journal is to both dedicate ourselves to editorial excellence and provide a safe environment for those who share their work.
The Intercollegiate U.S.-China Journal is funded in its entirety by generous individual donors and institutions that operate in both the United States and China. IUCJ does not accept donations from governmental entities or academic institutions.
