Sam Mills is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing degrees in international relations and Asian studies. He is the Director of Research at Global Macro Team, a student-led think tank and research organization at the University of Texas, where he mentors new research fellows and manages the organization's curriculum. He formerly served as a Senior Fellow with Global Macro Team, where he led research projects covering the Chinese military-industrial complex, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the history of foreign direct investment since Deng Xiaoping's tenure as paramount leader. Sam hopes to foster greater understanding and cooperation between American and Chinese citizens and officials, and he is excited to provide his perspective through his work with the Journal.
