Undergraduate Students,

We are Clara Fu and Cameron Waltz, the Editors-in-Chief of the Intercollegiate U.S.-China Journal. The application to join IUCJ is now closed and we will begin recruiting new editors, communications officers, and designers next Spring. Please read below for more information on each position.

The Intercollegiate U.S.-China Journal is a bilingual, semiannual academic journal that provides a platform for students across the globe to publish interdisciplinary, academically rigorous research. IUCJ’s core mission is to improve understanding of the United States and China’s affairs, including security, politics, culture, technology, economics, and the environment. As part of the United States-China Better Relations Coalition, the Intercollegiate U.S.-China Journal maintain financial and editorial independence and partners with prominent U.S.-China scholars to uphold the Journal’s standard of scholarly excellence.

The Journal strives to serve as a catalyst for discussion and a launchpad for careers specializing in the domestic and international affairs between the U.S. and China. Our authors and team at the journal form a community of scholars who bring new, young perspectives into an ossified foreign policy discourse. We’ve published work from students at Harvard, Tsinghua, Stanford, Peking University, the Paris Institute of Political Studies, and the London School of Economics, among other top-tier universities. The world needs to hear your voice, and IUCJ can make you heard.

After three annual issues, IUCJ is continuing to expand. The various positions within our team include:

  • Associate Editors (English or Chinese language), who will work closely with the authors of submissions to refine their work to its full potential and help select pieces for publication as members of IUCJ’s editorial board.

  • Designers, who will help our authors tell their stories with graphics and artwork attached to their stories and on the cover of our annual issues.

  • Communications Officers (Chinese language), who will expand our readership through outreach and bring our authors’ work to a wider audience of rising young experts.

Should you have any questions about our application process, please contact us at admin@iucj.org.

We can’t wait to hear from you,

Clara Fu (Wellesley College B.A. ‘24) and Cameron Waltz (University of Texas B.A. ‘23)
