Contextualizing Current Affairs with Historical Perspectives

IUCJ is so excited to announce that we will be hosting our first ever public virtual event titled “Contextualizing Current Affairs with Historical Perspectives.”

Our guest speaker is Professor David Proctor, a Senior Lecturer at Tufts University. He is a member of the Core Faculty of the International Relations program, the Archaeology program, the Middle Eastern Studies program, and the Medieval Studies program. With decades of experience teaching history and international relations, Dr. Proctor is passionate about combining the methodologies in both fields to help students diversify their intellectual toolkits. In this talk, he will address the importance of contextualizing current affairs and global trends with historical perspectives. With help from works by Adam Watson and Howard Malchow, he will touch upon the evolution of ideas and organizations that define how states interact with one another today.

All are welcome to join, kindly do so via this link! We hope to see you there!
